Silence Equals Complicity

Rest in Peace, Ruth Bader Ginsburg

by The Evil Overlady

Tonight, the Supreme Court of the United States has lost a powerhouse of a Justice.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the eldest liberal Justice on that Court, passed away from complications of metastatic pancreatic cancer.

Justice Ginsburg brought feminist ideals to the Court and was a hero to so very many who sought equality and equal representation. For such a tiny woman, she was powerful beyond measure.

She had the respect of so very many people, and tonight, as I see people’s reactions to her passing on Facebook and other social media, I see that I’m not the only person whose heart hurts at her passing. Though it may sound terrible, I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one going through this right now.

And here is where I get really political about things, so if politics bothers you, go find a picture of a kitten to stare at.

The conservatives are going to do whatever they can to get someone from their camp to fill her seat, and they are going to try to get that done before Inauguration Day 2021 (no matter whomever wins the Presidential Election in November 2020).

When Justice Antonin Scalia passed, Mitch McConnell insisted that then-President Barack Obama couldn’t put a new Justice in place in his final year in office.

What do you want to bet that Moscow Mitch has already forgotten that idea?

Rest in Peace, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but when you can, please visit Moscow Mitch’s bedroom late at night and haunt his miserable ass!

  1. One should take note of RBG’s awareness of the political climate, for even as she faced her mortality head on, she saw the poison chess game that now unfolds before us just weeks before election day.

Now, the Orange nightmare hopes to leave us with a relatively inexperienced judge to replace RBG. The new candidate’s stance on women’s equality leaves much to be desired, and she has not said enough to assure many of us that she doesn’t act at the behest of a morally bankrupt GOP. Is this the straw that will break the Judicial System’s back?
